Antenne Digital Broadcast (ADB) selected Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE) to install and launch a local multiplex (DAB+) in the city of Lille, France. This platform allows several radios to broadcast from one system, improving their overall quality and lowering their OPEX.
With this new platform, ADB was able to answers the needs of 12 local radios: RPL Radio, Playloud, Radio Capsao, Horizon, Galaxie Radio, Delta FM, Canal FM, Pastel FM, Radio Boomerang, Campus Radio, Euradio Lille and RCV.
Based on the Open Digital Radio solution, BCE developed a new software layer to control easily the different functions of the solution and to add new features such as the automatic management of “slideshows”, the control of audio feeds backup or even the integration of external professional encoders.
“This first DAB+ platform launch in France demonstrate that high quality of services can be achieved with a competitive price.” explains Vincent Demarque, Radio maintenance and playout at BCE.

The complete solution was first installed and tested in BCE premises. Our extended platform space allows the pre-configuration of infrastructures for any project size avoiding any type of failure. After the fine tuning of the ADB platform, it was moved to Lille on the Lambersart transmitter site where the RPL radio already has a FM transmitter.
ADB installed the transmissions antennas, the layout of the technical room and provided an Internet connection. BCE was then able to install the DAB+ devices immediately and switch on the system.
“BCE expertise was paramount in the fulfillment of this project. They have perfectly understood our needs, as multiplex operator, and one of our customers.” Pierre Cauderlier, CEO at ADB.
