The HRT (Hrvatska radiotelevizija), the leading public broadcaster in Croatia, asked BCE to upgrade their tapeless production system.
Following the successful installation of HRT file-based production system by Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE) in 2016, HRT asked BCE to upgrade the existing infrastructure in order to answer to the rising amount of content production.
Federating all the users through a uniform environment and user-friendly GUI (graphic user interface), the tapeless production platform simplifies the access to audio and video content as well as all the metadata.
A file-based environment has numerous benefits, such as the ability of working faster and the deep overview on work orders and tasks. The tapeless production platform can also be easily upgraded to meet the growing requirements of HRT activities.

“File-based environments give a real flexibility to our customers. Thanks to strong partnerships with high-quality technology providers such as Grass Valley, BCE was able to upgrade HRT platform and give an access to more users to the platform” explains Nicolas Serres, Deputy Engineering & System Integration Manager at BCE.

With the installation of new Grass Valley (GV) K2 video server and 30 GV STRATUS-express licenses, the upgrade allows more users accessing and managing the content on GV STRATUS.
“It is paramount for BCE to give unlimited flexibility to its customers. Installing full tapeless workflows within media companies opens new developments and lowers upgrading complexity regarding infrastructure for both operational and technology.” Concludes Frederic Fievez, Projects Development Director at BCE.
